Something beautiful from Paducah, historical painting done in recent years on the floodwall which was built after the 1937 flood.
Friends there are certainly on our minds, I am hearing from some but now they are asking not to call and overload the system so we will wait.

My friend sent me an email with this picture------we are all up to our ears in winter.
I have been watching the weather channel off and on all day because my Paducah friends are in such trouble. I finally got through to one of them, he says there are warming centers but they have no power so they will just be cold at home. I so hope help will come for them and can it be now!

A quote from C. S. Lewis--"God is training up His heroes and when they appear, the world will wonder where they came from."
Might US Airways Pilot Chesley Sullenberger be one of these? He said he was just doing his job, and so must we all.
The little enamel pan in the picture is filled with dragon vine, which I just discovered, and it has "hearts 'n sayins" from the life coach.

My cousin Judy in Paducah and I had a conversation tonight about "naysayers".
They seem to be everywhere these days and especially on the television. Anyway, lots of people were shopping today at the Town Peddler, it's good to see people out after the bad weather. This little girl didn't make it to the booth, I just overlooked her when I gathered up my work. I think she's sweet, her dress is the back of a very old quilt and it does have some holes in it, but I like it, it gives her credibility..

I don't even want to know what the temp is this morning! Today I will put on all the clothes I own and venture out. I am having withdrawals from the Town Peddler and Charlie has hockey today ( they should save on freezing the ice.) I even missed Bible Study. Paris and Walker are sick of me being home too.

I haven't really liked squirrels since they chewed the wires in my car three times, but I saw this guy having lunch so why not? Especially since it will be 1 degree at midnight tonight. His friend was with him on a little higher branch eating a huge piece of pizza but my camera battery was low, it had to be Marco's Pizza, no one else would deliver today. Look at the sky, it was just beautiful today.

from today's Tennessee Granddaddy blog---"there is a fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness"." I made this snowman from a pattern from Moonchild's Primitives (from Paducah, yall). It kinda evolved differently but I sometimes lose control of the outcome when I am making things. She has wonderful designs!

These young ladies worked in the office of the Claussner Hosiery Company in Paducah, Kentucky. We were REQUIRED to wear Claussner hosiery which were held up in various ways (none comfortable) and they had SEAMS, which were REQUIRED to be straight at all times. Evangeline and I didn't make it into this picture so I will keep looking for one of us.

I didn't intend to put these together yesterday, their little heads have been on my table for a good while, but there they were, and some scraps of red quilt nearby and then some red pips were there......like they were saying "make me, make me". Anyway sometimes things have a way of coming together, and we should always plan to be surprised!
