Happy Wednesday day 3

Undaunted by the heavy frost, it's going to make it by Sunday.

A new doll I made from a pattern by Olde Country Cupboard, with some fabric from Jackie's fat quarters stash at Town Peddler, coffee-dyed of course. The roses were dried last fall from my own garden .

P. S.

Forsythia, Day 2

The whole back yard was glittering in a heavy frost this morning. It's a set-back for the forsythia but it still has a few days to recoop.
A friend who likes flowers. I made this from a freebie pattern by Olde Country Cupboard. Thank you so much. She has a nice selection of patterns.

A very Special Week

Just an ordinary forsythia, they are everywhere, but they seem to know it is a special week.
Amy is ready with her gloves and seeds. A Reet's Rags to Stitches design. Happy Monday of Easter week.

Blooms

This is Angie, one of my favorites.

Something is actually blooming, along with a few daffodils we saw on the way to the craft show.

Handcrafters in Northville, this weekend, two more days you have to visit, today and Sunday as well. We thought it was very nice, lots of beautiful things, but not much in the way of country or primitives. I didn't take pictures, I don't think you should unless you have permission when someone is selling their art. But I saw lots of people taking pictures with phones. I don't think that's very nice, if they intend to copy.

You can copy Angie, she's a Chestnut Junction pattern and she will be happy.

Little Girls

These are made from the "Scotty Ann" pattern by Sweet Meadows Farm. I'm sorry but I had to change the faces. I am all thumbs when they tell me I have to embroider the eyes (shudder). I love the blue stripe that I ordered from Heart of Dixie quilt shop. They give really good service too.

Yesterday I was happy to work a little outside, cleaning up. A lesson to learn, don't leave beets, especially huge ones, out in the ground all winter. Not a good thing. Raining a little today, making things pop up. Happy Thursday, craft show tomorrow!

Annie and her Cats

Of course there is a raveling in this picture, my dolls are not finished unless a loose thread is hanging somewhere (like me). Hers can be fixed and she is a Sweet Meadows pattern that I like to make. Happy Tuesday!

A Perennial Pair

I have spent the afternoon today with these two and CNN. Andy kept wanting to watch NCIS on USA channel and Annie would have liked Paula Deen, but we kept being reminded that this is a historic day, so we stayed with the news.

I will have to redo the tag as I misspelled perennial. Don't worry about me, the dolls have been talking to me a long time.

Reading

These are two that I picked up in the non-fiction. If you get a chance to read them, I thought both were good. Now I'm re-reading The Traveler's Gift by Andy Andrews. Sometimes you have to do that.

I've had a good week and hope you have also. I like Sundays, going to church and seeing everyone. I printed out the "More than Conquerors" little poster to put on my children's table. You might like it too, it's www.kindawonderful.typepad.com

Make-overs

My grandmother always said I was changeable as the wind. I often give make-overs to some lucky dolls, these are two.

The one got herself a bear and some new color hair, the other one gave up her pink hair for some new "Debbie Mumm" yarn hair that I found at Joanne fabrics. Debbie Mumm is in to everything, from coffee mugs to fabric, and now in the yarn. I do like it --it is very soft.

Maybe we will start a new make-over show for TV. Or not. Happy Thursday.

A new creative friend.....

I thought you all would enjoy seeing these photos of a new friend I have met online. She will be at the Saline Middle School in Saline, Michigan this weekend, Saturday. Her name is Barbara and her display name is BIG BROWN DOG. I love her pillows, I think they are just beautiful.

Saline shows are first-rate and if you are in the area and want to go to an excellent show, this would be the one. I expect Barbara will sell out, so go early.

The name of her display? She says"I have a chocolate lab named Latte. Also a nilla-wafer cocker spaniel, Nala, who is blind and deaf but the happiest dog in the world . Why can't we all be happy and be thankful for our food, shelter and love from our family. Our pets can sure teach us a lot about how God would want us to think."

I would add that I am thankful for all that, and my online and email friends like Barbara and all of you. Happy Wednesday.

Sam

Well....his eyes might look a little beady and his pants are in a twitch, but I think he is at least different. He is made from a pattern by Bird-in-the-Hand Primitives and he is VERY small, maybe 10 inches tall and that elephant, whew! The problem is with the maker on this one, and I will do another to see if he really was all that difficult.

I liked it that he was an e pattern. At first I didn't like that idea, but now that I have used it, it is an easy way to get your pattern right away and as long as the old printer cooperates, it's great.

P. S. You bear lovers out there, look at Faith Harvest Primitives this morning. She has a cute bear made from an old tablecloth. Super!

Happy Tuesday, the sun is shining!

Bunny Annie

She's all for Spring, not so much for daylight savings time. It was hard for me to lose that hour.

A Chestnut Junction bunny pattern, she has big feet and an Annie face with her own carrots. Easy to make, as are all their patterns.

I hope Monday is good at your house, I'm going to try to get more done this week, but then I always say that. I hope we get interrupted by spring again sometime this week.

Olde Friend

Recycled wool skirts make the best bears, but was I surprised yesterday to find that the large resale shop in my neighborhood has all their spring stuff out. So this will be it for the season, I am willing to give up wool in exchange for spring. It was so nice yesterday, the children were out playing and I cut back my clematis and raked a little. Today it is a little rainy and all the snow is gone. That's Michigan, like a box of chocolates.

I made these bears from the Sweet Meadows pattern. Happy Friday.

Reminder

You might get seeds now for Queen Red Lime Zinnia from Johnny's Seeds. Worth a try.

Apron and New Purse

This sweet apron was made by Stella for Jackie when she was a little girl. She made them mother-and-daughter matching aprons. I couldn't talk her out of it, no matter how much I said about the cute heart pockets and the dainty little fabric. Aprons are in!

But this is my new purse that I came home with. Thank you, Jackie! I love it, it fits my stuff perfectly.

Tomorrow I'll have some bears to show. Tyler and Dylan, my grandsons were here on Tuesday and we went to see Avatar. I thought we would be the last three people who hadn't seen it, but there were quite a few people in the movie. We all liked it but when I take time out for the fun stuff, it is hard to get back to sewing. Anybody else have that problem? Also the garden keeps calling me to come and look. Have a nice Thursday everyone.

Twinkles

It's so good to see the sun I don't want to go downstairs to sew. I'll be saying that a lot now or at least I hope I will. The jonquils are up, plenty of detours for road construction (that means jobs) the Iraqi elections are completed, and Sandra and Jeff, (my favorites) got their awards. So lots to be happy about. Anything else we will think about tomorrow.

It was good to see my friends at the craft show, some have been doing shows for a long time. Jackie bought a jeans jacket for Aiden and I bought some lanyards for PJ. Lots of nice things for sale, but no doll person, not a one, and NO prims. What???

Enjoy Monday.

New Smiles at my house

This Annie is made from a Sweet Meadows Farm pattern, the bear is my own idea however and I did a little patchwork effect on her dress. 2 inch strips came out nicely, but I probably couldn't do it again.
This little Ann and Andy are my own concoction. I drew them off on a cereal box and have used them for years. This time I had some nice blue stripe from The Heart of Dixie online quilt shop.

Everyone is thinking about flowers, me too! I made this pattern for her as well, just very plain and simple. I like the wide heads for raggedies. Fabric is Toybox, also from Heart of Dixie. The hair is raggedy red bumps from Backside of the Moon (love that name).

Tonight is the set-up for my friend Barb's craft show at Lutheran High West, on Cowan Road in Westland. Tomorrow is the show and it's going to be in the forties. She should have a good turn-out and lots of sales.

Have a good weekend everyone, do something special.

Old Patterns

The girls at Town Peddler think he looks a little startled. He is a Simply Nantucket pattern from way back. I always thought they were way ahead of their time, if it's a little off-the-wall I like it. I have several of their patterns and they are all unique, however, I haven't been able to find anything current except shops that have a few of the patterns.

I should get the prize for bad photo of the day, but I don't care, the sun is shining and our temperature is rising, the snow is melting and mud is welcome. Have a good Thursday.

Happy Birthday, Kynda!

I picked this picture on 3-3 because I think it was her best present possible, little Kyle, her new grandson, born 2-2. She's also getting breakfast.....a trip to the Farm with her BHWWW Mark.....and Cracker Barrel with Vi and Warren.

I love you so much. You are my reading, blogging and gardening pal, besides a fabulous daughter!

Tuesday Angels

Wine and pink for this one and lavender color with little labels of flowers and herbs. The lavender is Debbie Mumm. Patrice pattern above and below is A Stitch in Time.

It's so good to see the sunshine today, I hope you have some too. I think I will go outside and look for something coming up. I started the day speaking to someone in a foreign country about my printer. I'm sure he is a very nice man but I only understood a few words in our 25 minute conversation. I'm also sure he said the same thing to his coworkers about me. Let's go outside now.

Monday at Town Peddler

Chocolate bunnies!!!
This is Tonia's booth at the Town Peddler, she was rearranging it this morning and adding NEW spring items. I think it looks really good.

I love her little sign, letting us know her things are handmade.

Visit her soon for country lights, bowl fillers, boxes, rugs and more, a nice variety. Ask at the desk for her booth number. She's just around the corner from my booth.

See ya tomorrow, it's going to be a good week. Kynda has a birthday, The Farm is opening and Barb has a craft sh0w at Lutheran West. Yea!! Spring is coming!!
