New Addiction....

Last week I was at Sew What Quilt Shop in Wyandotte and I thought this little gizmoe looked interesting. It is called KANZASHI Flower Maker.

I learned that you need some sharp pointed scissors, the wisdom to follow the directions and a reliable vacuum to clean up the fabric jiblets after. An attitude that it really is quick and easy like they say is also helpful.

These are number 4, 5 and 6 that I made. The first one was of fabric a little too heavy but not so bad. The second one I threw away and started over. On the third one I decided This is So Much Fun.

My new Annie likes her's, also the fabric that I stole from PJ.

Visit Sew-What....144 Sycamore in Wyandotte, Michigan. Phone 734-281-1344.

I don't see a Facebook or Pinterest for them, guess I will have to suggest it to them. They do have a website.

Happy Monday morning everyone.

Friday in the garden...

Things in my garden seem to get out of hand, to name a few, the New Dawn rose that almost ate my whole yard; the Sweet Autuum clematis that almost went to the next street over; and now the butterfly bushes. They have to be cut down and you are left with these really sturdy straight limbs you will have to cut up or find some use.

Kynda mentioned that I made fences with mine and that reminded me that I need a fence around my strawberries, so that's what I did today. I am giving it a name. It is called "The Joy and Rosie Fence" . In case you don't remember, Joy and Rosie are PJ's (and Jeff's) goldens and do they ever love being in the patch. I hope they won't be too disappointed and yes it will be enough of a fence as we tried it last year when they needed to re-seed a patch in their lawn. The down side is probably that most of the sticks will root and I will have 40 butterfly bushes.

This is what I intended to do today...SEW! Somehow that fell through, once I go outside I don't want to come in. I hope your Friday was good. Love from Michigan.

Guernsey Cream Clematis...

In March, (when it was 70 degrees) this clematis began to bud. Many nights after the 11 o'clock news I was out there with a flashlight trying to cover it up to protect it from the frosts which are frequent this April. I think it was worth it however.

I have been telling my garden plants how confused they are but they don't listen. There is a cantaloupe plant growing by my front steps. He gets the prize for audacity.

Happy Thursday, tis is the last day for my coupon at Value World, guess where I will be soon.

With blogger, every day is a new day.  Not too many of you are complaining so I guess I am just being obstinate. I keep sneaking back to the old blogger interface, but this morning I am trying out  the new!

You may have also had lots of wind yesterday and today.  I keep thinking of something my grandmother would say..."it's an ill wind that blows nobody good".  I looked it up this morning but didn't get a definition that I think she had in mind.  It may be an old proverb or idiom that means different things to different people.

Today  is the fruits and veggie day program for preschoolers  at our library and green is the color.  I am usually surprised at what is picked.

Happy Tuesday morning.    Do you have a thought about the ill wind or why we like primitive pears?

Forget-Me-Not shopping...

My favorites were these little things of wool and felt....

I really liked them all....

Pins, anyone?

Or an art chair?

Forget- Me- Not store is located on Fort Street, near Outer Drive (by the Wendy's), Lincoln Park. There is a lot to see...upscale, funky, vintage, art, antiques, as well as clothing, and household items and furniture. It's fun shopping at Forget-Me-Not.

We love Tuesdays....

Tuesday is the day we go to the library for the National Kidney Foundation sponsored program, featuring fruits and vegetables stories and taste-testing things that are good for us.

It's fun to see what the other kids are wearing....

look at these boots!.....

Listening to the story, well sorta......

trying out this week's fruit...grapefruit. The veggie was yellow squash. Next week's color will be green..
See Mom, I told you it was fun!

I am so thankful for our public libraries. I hope you have one to share with the children who come to your house. Happy Wednesday all.

Some days there's PIE.....

From Kate's Kitchen via Jeff this morning. He brought his saw and cut my butterfly bushes down. Somehow they tend to become butterfly trees if not cut down in the spring. Last summer they were so tall I couldn't reach the top blooms to deadhead them.

It is so good that Jeff can do a chore for me again and that he is getting better.
The flowers are mixing themselves up which is okay, they do a better job than I do.

And Hugs and Kisses are finished today. XOXO
