This is last years Pat Beam bunny I made. Finished it in January when we had the big snows.
This one is this years that I finished up today. Changes in how we make things come from seeing what other people are doing. I think he looks like a sissy-pants and I will change him. Stay tuned.
I can't change the weather though...8 below this morning.
...pictures of children and things I make for those of us who never grow up, and plants I grow in my little garden......

Mini-Craft Show for Jackie
Jackie thinks she is suffering from crafter's block and asked for pictures of what I have been working on.
This will give me a chance to see them from the camera's eye, so I will probably change some of them. Also I loovvee playing with pic-monkey.com. The rabbit is a pattern fromChestnut Junction and the next one
is a larger doll and I tried a stick nose. Maybe ok for a first try. Although I think the rabbit looks wicked.
This one was just lying about for awhile so finished her with thoughts and wishes for garden-time.
This one has very short legs and I wanted to try my hand at making a sheep. I love the fabric on her dress, it is outline of farm animals.
This is just a little piece of painted old quilt. It sure is green! But one of my favorite things to do and hope for a chuckle or two at the Town Peddler.
But these little purses are my very favorite thing to make. They are just pre-owned little black purses with
whatever I can find to decorate them. They are not a very fast seller. I know that some of the things I make leave people scratching their heads and wondering what I am thinking. But that isn't the point is it?
I hope you have not been bored this morning. I am venturing out today to the grocery and tomorrow John and I are going to the Melvindale Library for valentine's crafts. Kynda, Mark and Isaac are going to have a fabulous weekend in Arizona so hope we have lots of pictures of the Gala coming up. If you come to Detroit this weekend you could take your family to the Winter Blast downtown, expected to have 100,000 people, ice skating, tubing, snow shoeing and winter fun. A good thing about Detroit you won't hear about except on the local news. Whatever you are doing, stay warm and have a nice weekend.

Wednesday
The snow is piled high and the world news is horrific.
It seems insane to pick up a needle or a paint brush, but work somehow seems to soothe the soul..
Say a prayer with me while you are working today, for all those who are in scary places.

Snow day
Wasn't going anywhere anyway, maybe to Salvation Army if someone helped me clean off my car. The wind made some drifts that were beautiful except when they need to be moved.
I don't remember if I showed you all my mouse angel. Pattern by The Goode Wife of Washington County.
Friends came by for lunch and Becca and I watched some Homeland. I made vegetable beef soup. I hope you had a nice warm day.

Hello
No pattern, just a mix-mash. Yesterday we had a pretty snow, so far only 19 inches, compared to 44 last year. Yea!

Detroit Art by Nicole McDonald
I am wondering if she paints these on-site. The news story showed her stoking a wood stove and I see she is dressed for the cold. These portraits are of people who have made contributions to the well-being of the city of Detroit. I would love to see it in person, and wouldn't it be fun to see her studio. I wish we would see more pictures like this instead of those of dilapidated buildings ( of which every big city has their share, ).
I wish the picture were not so fuzzy. I hope your week will be good.

Visit to Town Peddler and Stella's
Where's the hairspray, the gel, and the million other products we use today? I like this better. From the Dirt Road Divas booth at Town Peddler.
I love this little table...it is a huge glass platter with legs. It is so sweet if you had room for it. Look for it at the Dirt Road Divas booth.
Jackie and I both have our eye on this one, thinking about where it could go. It is sitting on top of a little stool, I think it is about $50, probably will be gone when we make up our minds.
First booth on the left on the middle aisle is my stuff. I like old quilts, hoops, yo yos and flowers.
This is the rabbit I made and thought it needed "something" so I put it in an old frame, at least it's different.
After our visit to TP, we went to see Stella, Jackie's Mom. I am such a fan of Stella's, she is a superwoman.
There she sits in her beautiful room, starting another crocheted blanket and asking us about things even we don't remember. She will have a birthday this month...a big 102.
THANK YOU for visiting me and commenting on my last post. It is so good we can take a break now and then and still not be forgotten. Happy Saturday everyone!
