More Marching Band Thoughts...

I keep thinking about the marching bands, this one played Irish music. Only one director here. One of the bands had an electric guitar and he had kinda of a little solo part . I was amazed too at the big semi trucks that carried the instruments and the little "trains" that carried the big instruments off the field.
This one had three directors (and on a stepladder no less). Is the man in the khaki pants a judge? The Linden band received fifth place which I thought was just wonderful.

I was so impressed too with the discipline shown by the band members. And Dave, you gave me the right word that I couldn't think of to describe the whole thing and that was "intense".

Today we are thankful for everything, but especially young people who are working hard and doing things that sometimes go unnoticed. Also for a sunny Tuesday.

Marching Band State Finals..

An unexpected surprise for me on Saturday. Tyler's (GS) Linden Marching Band was competing and I got to go. Here they are waiting for the big moment.
And here they are on the field, I was so impressed.. and so proud! And it was so interesting. I hope I will be able to go again next year. Tyler will be a senior then!

And .....Annette gets the award for most enthusiastic and vocal Mom.

Reading is Fun

First, some flowers for you, it's Bee's Jubilee clematis at PJ's. It's a good one to have if you don't already.
John Michael and I have a book club. All about dogs today. He says I pick out good books but I stink at singing. Also she tried to get me to eat brocolli.
Everyone tried to get me to read this book and I kept putting it off. My Melvindale library ordered it from the Dexter Library. It is a real privilege to be able to get any book this way.

Enzo the dog tells the story in first person about his life and that of his race-car driver owner. I will remember two things especially. The car goes where the eyes go and that which you manifest is before you. I always pick out little phrases to help me remember the book.

Daily life in the month of May.....

John Michael is teaching me to babysit. This lesson is called "some buckets can go on baby's head."
This is my ASAP angel, little and tedious to make, but still I make her...
My new plant from PJ. It's called Euphorbia "breathless blush", grows 8-18 inches tall, 9-12 inches wide, flowers all summer. See it in the June issue of Garden Gate.

First visit of the year to Graye's Greenhouse, Joy and Lilley Road!!
