Bears that are loved.....

This is a line-up of bears from years back. Some are artist bears but I made the little ones in front, the quilt one and the calendar one from Jordan's birth year. Tex has lost an eye and all need new hairbows and such.
This little bear has literally been loved to pieces. He will get new joint replacements but nothing that changes the charm that love has given him. To me, that is the utmost compliment a bear-maker can get.
Whoa, what happened to your shoulder? I made this one, she will get dress repair.
Elwood is in really good shape. I put him here because I am amazed that I made him. I don't remember him at all and where did I get this pattern???

It was a beary good day in the neighborhood, visiting with some old furry friends. And it's a good day in Michigan today with sunshine and warm weather. I hope everyone gets to enjoy it.

Olde Friend

Recycled wool skirts make the best bears, but was I surprised yesterday to find that the large resale shop in my neighborhood has all their spring stuff out. So this will be it for the season, I am willing to give up wool in exchange for spring. It was so nice yesterday, the children were out playing and I cut back my clematis and raked a little. Today it is a little rainy and all the snow is gone. That's Michigan, like a box of chocolates.

I made these bears from the Sweet Meadows pattern. Happy Friday.

Today's Bear

He doesn't have a name yet, I made him from wool I felted from a jacket and his drum was contributed by my friend Barb. I used a pattern I just received from Sweet Meadows Farm, of course it doesn't resemble hers in the least but if you need a bear pattern, it's easy to make and maybe you can find some Kunin felt to use.

My next door neighbors have ruined my day, a For-Sale sign just went up in their yard. They have been good neighbors and they have a darling little girl, born since they moved here about three years or so. I have seen a lot of people come and go in my neighborhood, some I miss, some not so much. Lots of places are for sale and even a few are empty, it is the same everywhere. I guess we have to be patient.

Happy Tuesday!

Bears are back

My little quilt bear is a mixture of magazine patterns until I got him to look like I wanted.

The mama bear is a very old Country Stitches pattern. I added the rusty wire glasses and I also ordered some extra rusty wire to have in my booth at Town Peddler. It is impossible to find it in a store around here and I thought someone else might like to use it occasionally.

Yesterday we had 20 children in Children's Church!!!

Charlie won his hockey game.

PJ and Jeff have a new golden, her name is Joy.

Happy Monday everyone.

Special request post

A nameless friend says I have been lazy lately. I guess I have those winter blahs so many of you have. Anyway, here is Riley, and he wishes you a happy weekend.

I'm going to have a good one, I get to see Charlie (grandson) play hockey in Trenton. Yea!

Marietta

A little bear pattern by Sweet Meadows Farm, I used an old hanky for her dress and an old quilt square with rubber stamped message. She's getting a new pink bow for her hair. Today.
