Front and Center

Christmas 2008--
"Tis not the weight of jewel or plate,
Or the fondle of silk and fur;
Tis the spirit in which the gift is rich,
As the gifts of the wise ones were;
And we are not told whose gift was gold
Or whose was the gift of myrrh."

My favorite Christmas poem by Edmund Vance Cooke
Merry Christmas everyone

My Little Tree

My little tree is definitely a "theme" tree; it's theme is LOVE because it is a blend of ornaments made or given to me by people who love me.
This little angel was made by Kynda when she did needlework ( before she became a florist )
Mr. and Mrs. Santa were made by some artists in Berea, Ky. They are clothespin dolls made as a fundraiser for Appalachia.
Of all, this one is my favorite. I hope you have enjoyed my Christmas Eve post and wish everyone a very merry and blessed Christmas and New Year.

Celebrate Chickens

I've been reading up on chickens since I got a chicken magazine from Kynda. Just in case I have a farm someday. Did you know that they like milk as a treat? And also they have lots of enemies so it's a lot of work to protect them. They need Secret Service in case someone throws a shoe at them.

A Fabulous Place

Here's an idea from back in the fall when we visited Springfield and Flea Market to Fabulous. What you need is some old chairs, some paint and some second-story windows. Ouila!

Your Mission

From my blogger friend Mr. Ray White (Dad) from tomatogardeningwithdad.blogspot.com; his thought for Wednesday is a verse from a hymn "Your Mission" written by Sidney M. Grannes.

If you cannot on the ocean sail,
among the swiftest fleet,
Rocking on the highest billows,
Laughing at the storms you meet,

You can stand among the sailors,
Anchored yet within the bay,
You can lend a hand to help them,
As they launch their boats away.

Dad's comment is what makes this special. He says There is a place for all of us to fill and we need to be content with it and be faithful in our little place.

Check out his blog, you will learn from him.

Angel with Pipe Cleaner Wings

Beautiful Story

Corey Friedman from the age of five through his high school years, suffered from a complex case of OCD, Tourette's syndrome and anxiety disorder. His struggle to survive this nightmare is written in short chapters in first person (which I like). Depressing? Uh,Uh I think it is about heroes. And family love.
I checked it out at my library on Monday and finished it at 1 am this morning. I couldn't stop reading it. Happy Wednesday.

It Can't be December!

Remember when we did craft shows every week and then it was December and all over and we had that strange empty feeling and said "it can't be December"? I still have them even though shows are in the past. If you are still out there, I give you credit! We saw the Transporter movie today, I wouldn't mind if Frank wanted to drive my Windstar.

Sunbeam Pies

This little gadget was given to me by a friend. She said it makes little pies about 5 inches round. I thought, yeah right. I was wrong, it worked great, these are cherry and will probably be eaten by Jacob. Happy Thanksgiving!

A Friend

This is for my friend Edd and his wife Bettye.

if You would walk with me today, I would be so relieved---
and as we pass the scary things, You would say "just breathe"
Your hand in mine is what I need, and I can face it all...
because I know You will be there, just in case I fall.

Beautiful Beans

We'll take these! Lisa used to be a city girl before she moved to Jonesville, now she gardens and cans, hunts, and brings in firewood just for starters. She is a hockey mom and working mom and she probably won't get this cool wire basket back.

Cats at the Craft Mall

I probably went overboard on cats this week. The fat cat in green is my favorite.
Be sure to check out the pictures of the BRA SHOW in Springfield (for Breast Cancer Awareness) they're on Kynda's blog, www.canadagarden.blogspot.com. PJ got to see them, I missed out by staying in.
