Little Projects......

I hope you do not have dry eyes but computer screens, tv screens etc. cause an increasingly common condition known as meibomian gland dysfunction, the oil producing glands in the eyelids fail to secrete enough oil to prevent tears from evaporating too quickly, and this results in burning, painful eyes.  (I got this from my eye Dr. Yu).

Heat treatment is good so I made these little rice baggies to heat in the microwave and use as a heat pack for 5-20 minutes.  About a half cup of rice in them.  It also helps to follow with lid-scrubs to express the softened oil from icky clogged glands after you use them.  I just use baby shampoo and water and a q-tip.  Close your eye and scrub and rinse.  Feels very good, after too much  blogging,  facebook and pinterest .

Yesterday was the last day for my 50% off coupon at Value World .  I bought this little sofa-kleenex-box-cover and this is what I did with it.  80 cents of fun!

Happy Thursday everyone!

Life is Good......

ain't it so!  When you feel it, and your tee shirt says so!

PJ and I have new shirts to feel good in, from Kynda!  The little tag says " do what you like, like what you do."  Like good things, do good things.  Happy Friday to ya!

It's spring  because Max (the next-door cat) has moved into my yard.  He likes to be in paper bags.  I have found him in the big yard-waste bags at times.

And Charlie is smiling, he's going to Florida AND a Red Wings hockey game.

John likes the flowers.
Best news of all, Jeff is at home and doing good!

I am so far behind with reading and writing posts, I will probably not catch up.  I hope I haven't missed too much with you all.  Altho I did see that Robin has a birthday, so happy birthday Robin!!!  Everyone have a wonderful Wednesday.

I'd Like to Wear a Badge too.....

At the hospital, everyone wears a badge, some people get to have two or three badges.  The nurses have really gone creative with theirs and some even have bling.  Now that Jeff is getting better I am thinking of some I can make for PJ when she goes back to work.

Kynda made a too-short visit to see us, taking the Amtrak home  with a lot of St. Patrick's Day rowdy  party- goers to Chicago.  I forgot to ask if the canal was green on Friday .

This is just a small part of Detroit Medical Center, Harper Hospital  and Hutzel Women's Hospital, a new heart hospital will soon be there also.

We didn't eat here (at the Whitney) just took a picture and we will take Jeff there if he wants to go.

And here's what I bought to make PJ's badges.  Pretty pins by Jan at the Town Peddler Mall.

Love the little pink bird.  They are FELTED!  Be sure to check out her items at www.lovemakethink.com and on etsy and Facebook.

This is the badge holder, I bought some velcro triangle at Joann Fabrics which were a perfect size and they had adhesive backs.

This one is all finished, I am going to add a word and maybe a little ribbon.  Everyone will be so jealous.

I never make long posts but couldn't help myself.  It is so good to feel good, and I  know I have so many friends in blogland who won't mind a bit.  Your encouragement to us has been wonderful.  I love you all.

Good things.....

It is a joyous day to see Jeff.... much improved today... a day to be grateful to our loving God and every one of you who have shown concern . We will have a lot to tell him about everyone's kindnesses and the super care he has been given by the folks at Harper. We will also tell him how lucky he is to have PJ, she is his rock.

Thank you all so much and please continue to pray for him and all those who are in hospitals and those who are caring for them.

This was a good book that I read instead of sleeping. It's historical fiction, a prairie story in the late 1800's but it is no Little House on the Prairie. It's a first novel, and I really liked it. You might also.

Old Mr. Robin is back. I know what he is doing and although I welcome them back, this particular one will snip off every tulip bloom in my front yard. He is just casing the joint.

I've missed a lot of blog posts I know, hope to get caught up on all the news soon. Happy DST and Sunday evening.

Waiting.....

We loved "Big River" and its song, Waiting for the Light to Shine. That is what we are doing.

I wanted to say thank you for your prayers and kind emails. I don't have any news this morning. They are still testing and we are waiting for Jeff to get better and sing with us. Love you all.

Happy Birthday Kynda

I was on Facebook earlier trying to get her new profile picture but that is uncharted territory for this facebook dummie. I managed to retrieve this one but please don't ask me how.

Never mind my shortcomings, to me this wonderful daughter has not a one. She is beautiful inside and out. I hope she and Vee get to visit The Farm today and have CAKE, maybe even lunch at Morning Star. I know Mark will make this a special day for her too.
I love you all.

we need Dr. House

This happy guy is my SIL Jeff, my go-to-handy-man and pot-belly-lunch-buddy who has somehow landed up in a BIG hospital down in the BIG D.

It looks like I am going to have to GO DOWN THERE to get things moving along to decide what has put him out of commission.

All you friends that I have here, please keep him in mind, your little prayer...just might be....precisely our necess-i-T. Thanks a bunch.
