Working Girls 1955

These young ladies worked in the office of the Claussner Hosiery Company in Paducah, Kentucky. We were REQUIRED to wear Claussner hosiery which were held up in various ways (none comfortable) and they had SEAMS, which were REQUIRED to be straight at all times. Evangeline and I didn't make it into this picture so I will keep looking for one of us.

I love this picture! Was it taken in the break room? How cool.

I'm thinking it may have been taken at someplace we went for a party. Some of the girls had on hats, and there is a jukebox in the pic. I was hoping my friend would comment, bet she will remember, also we didn't dress so fancy for work.

Really cool picture. I hope you can find one with you in it. I would hate wearing pantyhose every day!

Laura, not pantyhose, they didn't come along for several years after this. I remember how excited we got when they came out with SEAMLESS hosiery. My seams were always crooked and I was told about it forty times a day.We would have been ecstatic to have had pantyhose.
