Somewhere in Italy during World War II , my Uncle William managed to find a chicken . I'm sure it reminded him of home. And he did come home.
I just commented to another blogger that I am telling my age when I say we always called it Decoration Day. Remembering those who gave all.

Wonderful photo Peggy. LOL - I used to call it Decoration Day too - until people started looking at me funny. Did a little catch-up reading....I'm a wee bit jealous that you can make neked sticks take root and become butterfly bushes. I have bought several hardy-looking things from reputable nurseries and not a one has survived my tender loving care. All I say is - you must have some amazing soil there in Michigan - and an entire hand of green thumbs! Happy "Decoration Day" to you....Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
Happy Decoration Day. I do hope you had a good day. I'm just home from a busy day with DD and the new grandson. Never did make it to the cemetery but will try to do so tomorrow. She called for help so off I went.
