June

My favorite iris is Beverly Sills.
My favorite rose is this one because I rooted it myself from a cutting (twice) like my grandmother did it.  Put a quart jar over it.
I have a plan for reading even though it is hard to come in from the garden.  When you get really hot and sweaty, come inside for a break and read a little.  This was an audio book I have waited seems like forever to get from the library.  It is the sweetest story and the reader was George Newbern, who was on Scandal, Friends and CSI .  He reads well but I don't remember seeing him as an actor.

Ove is a cranky  and bitter man after he loses his wife.  She was the only one who ever understood him.
He has staunch principles, strict routines, and a short fuse but behind him is a story and sadness.  He doesn't want people in his life but people keep barging in and he can't escape their needs.  It is a warm and funny story of love,  with a happy but tearful ending.  I think anyone would like it.

I think I'm on the reserve list at the library for this one. So glad you liked it, now I'll have something to look forward to! I've been in the literary doldrums for too long. That iris is fabulous!

Love your flowers. At my other home I had every color of the rainbow in irises. With an acre of land, my flower gardens were full of multiples. My mom started me into gardening when I was a teen. Love gardening! Janice

Your Iris is beautiful. I've never seen one that color. Ours are about done blooming here. But unlike yours my roses are still tiny buds. Isn't wonderful to have these lovely blooms.
