Found It!

There are always big needles in my haystacks, so I am posting this.

Sunday,  John (age 10, great-grandson) made a statement...Life is not easy.  I said back to him,
John, you hit the nail on the head.   A little while later he said, GG what does that mean about the nail?

Sometimes I forget someone old as me speaks another language.  Happy Monday.

There's a log of those old sayings that the younger ones wouldn't get

Yes, our grandkids seem like generations from when we grew up.

Last night I was admiring a small lamp in my daughter's kitchen. I said it reminded me that I wanted to make a small one about the size of hers out of my parent's old percolater. She had no clue what that was. LOL

And on a related note, I made a decision recently to start using old adages more to bring them into my grandchildren's vocabulary and consciousness. I started with, 'if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all.' Then I told them if they were growing up in the house that I did, they'd hear a lot of 'children should be seen and not heard.' :)

Isn't that the truth - and they have a language to themselves too!

That is so FUNNY!!! Yes, kids do not always get it when we say stuff!!
Even my Amber (33 years old) is no longer a youngster! Someone asked her how she could have planned her wedding without pinterest. Amber was amazed and humbled that she married BEFORE anyone ever hear about Pinterest!! (I may not be spelling it right!)

Ah, the proverbial needle in the haystack. I do know what you mean about talking a different language ...

Peggy, What a cute story of your great grandson. I used to ask my granddaughter if she knew what some old adage really meant...so she would explain and most often got it right. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

Play Bazaar Do not overlook credit unions when you are looking for a place to open a checking or savings account. Credit unions usually offer higher interest rates and lower fees than commercial banks. However, the services offered and access to ATMs might be limited. Still, credit unions are a good alternative if you are looking for higher interest rates.Satta King
