You need a styrofoam ball and a white sock and a roll of toilet paper, some pom poms, wire and a fabric strip for his scarf. They did an excellent job (first to fifth graders), the only hard part was getting that roll of toilet paper in the sock.
We used paper cut outs for the face as the fabric markers bled through the sock. Everyone had fun, as always!

Today I am making cornbread dressing and thankful I am able to.... and would like to wish all my friends online a happy day tomorrow.
I thought you might like to see this beautiful Christmas tree. It is as big as my house so it isn't mine. My friend Marie was at the lighting of it at the Henry Ford Museum. Looks like she did some shopping there as well.
My cornbread dressing recipe is on my blog, November 2010 in case you would like to make it sometime.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

So Sweet
So many of us have been watching Linda's family as they have enlarged. It seems like yesterday, the quads came along! Now they are having art lessons and sharing with us. Thank you Linda. Visit them often to watch them grow at Linda's Life Journal. And may this week bless us all.

November turkeys
I just sent a Facebook post to Stacey Mead, the designer of the pattern I use to make these turkeys, to thank her. I made four this year from her Raven's Haven pattern "Jake" the turkey (2007).
Jake is really easy to make, he has rebar wire legs. He also doesn't have to worry about ending up on a platter.

Mr. Quilt Coat Santa is now in the building at Town Peddler Craft and Antique Mall.
Also some new hats, hand crochet by Neen, my friend, who makes these for their family diabetes project, to remember her grandson Scott.
I Added some of PJ's pins to some of them. They are really nice, the crochet and pins were my idea and that was the extent of my input. I can't make the pins and I sure can't crochet.

Craft Show Time
These are two things I had left over from last year. The right home just didn't come along for them last year.
Both of these are designs by Olde Country Cupboard, lordy, how we miss her and her beautiful work.
I'm looking forward to the weekend, Divine Child craft show (as a buyer and supporter for Barbara and hopefully Carol, Rosalee and Denise will be there) and Little Shop of Horrors (with SIL Jeff) at Out of the Box theater in Wyandotte.
We had rain, lightening, thunder this morning but many of my flowers are holding on. Me, as well.
Hope you all find a good craft show too.

October 2014
The Pilgrims 2014, pattern by Sweet Meadows Farm,
A really, really good book if you love books, reading and people who love books. I want to read her other stories now.
Our October man, it has really been a little chilly for this sort of thing, we had a frost and now the leaves are beginning to fall. I am sewing, making salsa and grape jelly and reading. Hope you all are wonderful and busy too.

Misc. Saturday
Well I hope these girls are not too mad at me. Here it is the end of September and I didn't post their picture. Next month will be a guy, so get ready ladies.
Lisa and Ray just came back from vacation, they went to Colorado, Utah and Nevada and came back with so many beautiful pictures. We all know how beautiful those Western states are, so I chose this picture to post because Lisa knew I would appreciate it and it makes you think. And laugh.
This is a book I just read picked out for me by Teresa at the library. It's a good book and I enjoyed reading it through but the end is the best part. Do not read the end before you start it. I hope everyone has a good weekend, it is a gorgeous day in Michigan.

Visit to Kynda and Mark's Porch...
It was too cold for me on the porch when we visited and I was disappointed to miss out on it.
Little table has a story, Kynda bought it at Antique Mall then found out it had belonged to a friend's Mom.
(She offered it back of course).
Wire frame, made in Michigan, made beautiful with flowers. Why didn't we do that with ours?
Mammy's little snail planter, sweet little face isn't it?
Mammy's little birdhouse in a bird cage found by PJ.
Granddaddy's thermometer from White's Ashland Service Station. We called it "filling station" back then.
It's like a trip down Memory Lane, and a perfect place for a visit or a read.

Pumpkins
These are most of the pumpkins that I grew in the garden.....
and this is one I tried to make. I think it turned out like a big ol pattypan squash. Okay it was a practice piece that I attempted from a tutorial on mydesertcottage.com. Maybe you could try it, but anyway, check out the website and see what you think.

Dora, the aDORAble
Faith and Dora
Noel and Dora....
Lucky little Dora has gone to live with Faith, and I will be visiting her often and seeing her grow up.
Dora's mom came to PJ's a while back and it was soon discovered she was in the family way. Four little darlings and three have found wonderful homes. One little Chubs is left and I have a feeling, he doesn't have to worry either.
I love thank-you letters and I thought Faith's was just awesome. She and her whole family are awesome!

Favorites at Town Peddler
My favorite things to play with are old crochet, buttons and pictures. I also like old books. Putting them all together is fun for me. The two dolls are Zombie Ann and Seed saver Ann.
The last picture is a chalkboard made by some gals just around the corner from our booth. They have the neatest things. This is the underside of a pull-cart, you can see the rollers . It's pretty large and priced at 39.95. It probably won't be there very long. On the left side there is a little hardware piece that holds the chalk. I keep thinking about where I could possibly put it.
Happy Thursday.
