Pretty scarce this year. I lost two purple butterfly bushes in the garden, and I didn't let this white one go rampant like usual. PJ and I planted some butterfly weed also and I have milkweed in some places. Did you ever smell the flowers of the milkweed?

I was just saying to my husband that we haven't had the number of butterflyies this summer. I am sure it is because the hydrangeas were so damaged by the winter that I've had very few blooms.
I just heard a report on the radio the other day that the monarch migration was WAY down this year.
Pretty pictures and yes they smell so good. My plants came back a little late this year. I have seen alot of butterflies.
Enjoy these hot upcoming summer days. Muggy isn't it!!!!

We thought we'd lost both of our purple butterfly bushes too due to the harsh winter, but now there are new shoots growing where one used to be and yesterday I even saw the start to a blossom. So maybe there is hope. Your picture is a good one. I never can get a bird or a butterfly picture just right.
What a great butterfly pic Peggy! I lost my butterfly bush this year also but planted a new one. I miss the butterflies. Are the milkweeds the dusty purple plants? ~*~Lisa
