Britt-Marie Was Here

I think Fredrik Backman may be my new favorite author.  After reading A Man Called Ove and this one and have one waiting called My Grandmother Asked Me To Tell You She's Sorry.

As I was reading Britt-Marie I couldn't stop thinking what a great movie it would be, providing an actress could be found that would  measure up to it.  Maybe Meryl?  If you read it I'd be interested to know what you think.

Happy Monday, beautiful day in Michigan.

There have been a few books I've read that I thought would make good movies or even a series. I've never heard of this author. I'll have to check it out

Ove is still the best, but I like Britt-Marie too...parts of it a lot, parts not as much. I loved her relationship with the human resources girl and Vega and Omar and all the children. (With Kent and the rat, not so much. Which was which, after all?) I was a little perplexed by the ending, and I felt sorry for Sven.

I'm also on the waiting list for My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She's Sorry. From what I understand, it preceded Britt-Marie Was Here, and Britt-Marie was a character in My Grandmother as well.

I've never read this author but I shall remedy that as soon as I can. I love a book that's so good it's like watching a movie in your head!
