Book report

Remember when we were in school and we had to do book reports?  I would like to see some of those now!

This post is for Kynda, who says I don't post enough.  I finished American Dirt yesterday, while keeping an eye on the football game.  I really liked the writing but it is a harrowing tale of a perilous journey, lots of controversy if you like that sort of thing.

Hill Women was picked for me by my librarian, Teresa.  She watches for Kentucky books for me, this one is a memoir I think, but it is going to be good.

Fun at Town Peddler Craft & Antique Mall

 And these two are John and Aiden.  They don't get together very often but when they do, it's a blast.  While they play video games, Jackie and I straighten up our booths and bring in new stuff to sell.  Then we usually go to Buddy's pizza but this week the kids selected Wendy's. 

My favorites this week were these two. 

But being with children and my friends are really my favorite.

Better Boy

My first tomato!  Finally!  12.5 ounces arrived July 26th.

My Pond

On almost the hottest day of the year, it is finished by pond artiste Jeff Powers. Water lily is coming, but no fish.  Happy Monday.

I don't just read....

Last week the area where I live was flooded badly, freeways closed, schools and others closed and you can't find a mop anywhere.  My damage was minimal but I feel so badly for others who have lost so much.

One of my friends basement has not flooded in 52 years and guess what?  There is a dumpster outside their house with all their basement treasures.  Up and down the streets there are piles of bags and furniture waiting to be picked up. 

My garden is muddy but the tulips are loving it so one day I had to read...The Glovemaker and I really liked it.  Check it out on Goodreads to see more details.  Utah territory, 1888, Mormon history, and set in a tiny town called Junction.  Today, its orchards are part of Capitol Reef National Park in Utah.

The author notes are really interesting and I wish I had read them before starting the book.
