about the Town Peddler which I am always rattling about.

Located at 35323 Plymouth Road (between Wayne and Levan) in Livonia, it is a collection of shops in a huge store with antiques, collectibles and crafts, and has a newly added art gallery. It has been voted #1 for 3 years in a row by Channel 4's Vote 4 The Best.

I have made many friends in my years there, staff, customers, and vendors have become like family to me.

There is a website, www.townpeddler.com AND a very special story about Coach Greg Mellon (husband of Booth Agent, Lee Mellon). For sure, everyone is so proud of this member of the TP family (and Lee). His determination to recover and excel makes him a hero.

I'm posting some recent pictures from Town Peddler Mall, Decor Hunt's booth. I look forward to seeing what she has new.

Myself is a little puny, with a sinus problem, so haven't been exactly turning out the dolls. If you visit Town Peddler, I thought you might like these photos, and if you live far away maybe you will be inspired by her flair.

I remember planting this, I just don't remember what it is. John says it looks like a weed.

No pattern used for this one, I just wanted a short Annie with a wide head. I really like black and white. I'll take these to the Town Peddler soon.

New homes for these three....

A large doll I make from a pattern by Soft In The Head. I used an old dresser scarf that was embroidered in colors that match her dress. I always wonder about the homes that receive my dolls, I am sure they are peaceful and creative and joyful, just judging from those of you I have met.

I missed everyone yesterday but this will be a good day to read blogs. And I did enjoy my road trip to Port Huron. We went to Sew Elegant, Mary Maxims and I got to visit with my friend, Garnet. Barb is so nice to drop me off for a visit with her. I love seeing her and her beautiful needlework and catching up with her wonderful family.

And yeah, we went to Cracker Barrel. Happy Thursday everyone.

Emma's quilts

My mother was born in April 1914 in Graves County Kentucky. She was one of eight children. When her father died, very young, they moved to the city (Paducah) and she and some of her sisters worked at the cigar factory to help support them. They were just little children.

She made lots of quilts in the sixties, using double-knit fabrics. That's what we wore then and were so happy because things didn't have to be ironed. She especially loved Dutch Dolls.

If she were here this morning we would ask her to do the Charleston for us. She would be happy to.
