Tomato Rant
These are tomatoes that I grew from seed, the tiny ones are the Smartys, medium are Arkansas Travlers and the larger one is a Brandywine that was completely wiped out from an early frost and then came back.
Just a post to say that I hope to finish my salsa this week, and I haven't been visiting the blogs lately, but thank you all so much for all your visits and comments. See everyone soon with Halloween crafts.

Sunflowers
This one is Del Toro, I ordered these seeds from Pinetree Seeds, where you can get small amounts for a dollar and change. They were kinda slow but all the seeds were good and I will order from them again.
PJ likes this one, it is called Lemon Aura, also from Pinetree Seeds. It's not really big but the color is so pretty.
Speaking of pretty, if you like plants and you are not looking at Kynda's blog, you must see the pictures from the Bank of Springfield. Go to www.canadagarden.blogspot.com or
www.gardensbos.blogspot.com. Don't miss them!!!

Angels today
These two may have needed more hair, we'll see. Their dress bodices are embroidered with some little flowers and then painted. Just trying something to avoid the price of $10 a yard fabrics and make something affordable.
Charlie has a post about their vacation in the Smoky Mountains. Tomorrow I will write about it. Making salsa today.

PJ's Pedestal Plate
This is one of those glued together cute glass pieces PJ bought from someone making them. It had cookies on it yesterday that she thought were too messy to take to church so I brought them home.( I'll be getting the recipe for you for they had zucchini in them, and who cares if they are messy).
The big black spoon was almost a twin to the one painted on the plate although I'm sure they came from different places. I always wanted to try making one of these glass pedestal thingies, there are lots of them on the Garden Junk website, I think they call them totems there. For now, I'll concentrate on eating the cookies.

A Perfect Lunch
This is a big slice of Brandywine tomato topped with Kynda's new recipe that she found at a party. It is delicious if you like the garden stuff.
chop up a green, yellow, orange, and red pepper and some onion to taste.
Depending on how big your peppers were and how many you want, add one or two cans of drained navy beans, black-eyed peas, or whatever other bean/pea combo you want.
My peppers were really small and I think two cans were too many. Next time I think I'll just add one. But I don't think it really matters, just add whatever you think you'll like. At the party, she used one can of black eyed peas and one can of navy beans.
Marinate overnight in 1 cup of vegetable oil, 1/2 cup sugar, and 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar. Drain and keep in the fridge. She served it with chips as a dip. I liked it in a bowl as a salad.
And I liked it on the big old tomato. Also I added about a teaspoon of celery seed to mine, just because I like celery seed with the vinegar and sugar mixture.

Cookies and Candy
Jordan, our Army guy, is coming home for a short visit. He asked for fudge, so I am taking a break to make some things,
This cookie I'm sure will be eaten, it is Sandra's recipe, you can try it by searching her nice blog---In This Small House, she is right that you should double the recipe and if they are left unattended, they will disappear.
Have a wonderful weekend and see you on Monday.

Garden Witch
Well, they are putting the Thanksgiving decorations out at Joann Fabrics, so maybe they are skipping Halloween this year. Anyway, my witch is a gardener who likes to fly. The hair was contributed by Kynda, I love it, and the broom by PJ and Jeff, it was perfect.
The shoes are in progress, they would seem to be popular so I am experimenting with some. I used the sequin paint which I try to find every excuse to use.
Happy Monday, defy gravity!

Happy Saturday
John Michael
This happy little man is having a first birthday party today, we don't care if it is raining, we are going to have fun. And we are thankful for the rain that we needed so badly.
Also thinking about David and Tracey's wedding today, I know it will be sunny by afternoon. Best wishes to them, (wish I had a picture). David was our little craft show buddy when he was just a little guy. Now all grown up, time sure flies.

August Thursday
All I need is the salt and pepper. These are Jet Stars, reliable and my favorite.
Max is my neighbor's cat but he stays at my house during the summer. After we have our coffee and cat food he takes a drink from the fish pond. I told him it was really unhealthy for him to do that but he just looks at me and says "whatever".

GWTW
One little angel is hardly productive but here she is. I keep getting distracted by important stuff.
Today Rebecca wanted to watch Gone With the Wind, do you remember seeing it the first time? I remember that we had an intermission and it never crossed our minds that we would ever watch it in our own living room.
And I saw it at the Old Kentucky Theater in Paducah on Fifth Street where the J. C. Penney parking lot is now. ( I think I'm getting that right. ) Well, I'll think about that tomorrow.
