Goldy Honey Bear Sunflower....

It seems to get bigger and brighter every day. It is larger than the "Teddy Bear" variety, flowers are nearly pollenless and it has a stalk as large as a hoe-handle so it doesn't fall over. I love it.

I bought these seed at English Gardens but you can look for them online. I also have some in pots that are beautiful also but a little smaller plant.

I'm cleaning up my garden now, it has been a strange year (my green beans took 90 days) and some things died out early in spite of a lot of rain. The squirrels are eating the best of my tomatoes since I didn't plant them any corn. Flowers are at their best, zinnias, sunflowers, four o'clocks and cosmos. How's your garden?

Jeff has his day planned with some knee surgery. We are counting on it going well and it helping him. A beautiful Tuesday to you.

(And thanks everyone for being on the look-out for my missing gnome!)

You do have the most unusual flowers there in your garden. Thank you for always sharing some new things with us. I'd never heard of that sunflower before but will be on the lookout for it now. I'll be praying for a successful surgery for Jeff. Hope your Tuesday is a terrific one. And yes, it's fine if you copy the graphic. Glad you liked it. I'm not sure where I got it but I borrowed it al long time ago from someone else too!

Still no sight of the gnome, but I've organized a community watch group to be on the lookout. :)
I love these sunflowers. I have never seen this type before. I may have to get some of these for stocking stuffers (mine too).
My garden is looking pretty sad. I have a lot of daisies which have fallen over and I haven't been good at deadheading them either. My wheelbarrow is my best feature right now. I have some zinnias and petunias providing some color, and a large urn planted with flowers, but most of my perennials are sad looking.
I hope the knee surgery goes well, and he's up and feeling better soon.

Those are gorgeous Peggy!!! Gonna have to seriously look into those - you had me at the stalk thickness...Unfortunately, sunflower don't usually fare too well here with our gale force winds....I've given up on the garden for the year...I do a lot of container gardening, and had been watering and they were looking great...but a cold front moved in last night that's expected to last at least the week - with frost and freezing...I'm too old, and it's too late in the season, for me to try to cover things or haul things to the garage. Always a sad time...feel like I'm pulling the plug on some good friends....Hoping and praying Jeff's surgery goes well, and he makes a quick recovery....Hugs ~ Robin

Lovely sunflowers, Peggy. Some of my zucchini plants just up and died, almost overnight it seemed, plus it took the tomatoes forever to ripen! Sorry someone took a liking to your cute gnome.

These are maybe the cutest sunflowers I've ever seen! I'm gonna have to find the seed, grow some, and see if they will dry. Thanks for sharing Peggy!
