Dora, the aDORAble

 Faith and Dora
 Noel and Dora....

Lucky little Dora has gone to live with Faith, and I will be visiting her often and seeing her grow up.
Dora's mom came to PJ's a while back and it was soon discovered she was in the family way.  Four little darlings and three have found wonderful homes.  One little Chubs is left and I have a feeling, he doesn't have to worry either.

I love thank-you letters and I thought Faith's was just awesome.  She and her whole  family are awesome!

Favorites at Town Peddler

My favorite things to play with are old crochet, buttons and pictures.  I also like old books.  Putting them all  together is fun for me.  The two dolls are Zombie Ann and Seed saver Ann.

The last picture is a chalkboard made by some gals just around the corner from our booth.  They have the neatest things.  This is the underside of a  pull-cart, you can see the rollers . It's pretty large and priced at 39.95.  It probably won't be there very long.  On the left side there is a little hardware piece that holds the chalk.  I keep thinking about where I could possibly put it.

Happy Thursday.

Masterpiece Breathless on PBS

Sunday nights are PBS nights.  This is a new series beginning tonight!  Back to the sixties, should be good as most of the Masterpieces are.  (And minimum commercials).

Young Adult Fiction

I read this quickly so I could return it to my library for the young folks to read.  However, it doesn't have to be appreciated only by them.  It is suspenseful, tragic  with surprise that I didn't see coming.  John Green gave it a good review too.

I am having a problem with SPAM (anonymous comments).  If anyone has a solution I would appreciate a suggestion.

I was looking forward to posting some new dolls by Jackie, but she let me down and didn't send the pictures.  Maybe tomorrow.

Butterflies are...

Pretty scarce this year.  I lost two purple butterfly bushes in the garden, and I  didn't let this white one go rampant like usual.  PJ and I planted some butterfly weed also and I have milkweed in some places.  Did you ever smell the flowers of the milkweed?

Lemon summer squash

I ordered seed for this from Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds, they listed it as their most popular squash.  I like it and the plant is easy to manage and is holding up well.  Kath from Four Miles North of Nowhere asked if I was going to be on the calendar next year, so I will answer here.  Sadly, I am not a resident or member of Garden City, so that lets me out.  Want to do a blogger calendar?

August update

August is half over and I forgot to post the gardener of the month.  I remember visiting this lady's garden and it was amazing.
Goldy Honey Bear, I used my seeds from last year.
Love lies bleeding, comes up on its own (everywhere) but is easy to pull out excess.

This is my favorite month of flowers.  I've been waiting for them to get dressed up for the blog.
We had over six inches of rain, you may have heard, earlier in the week.  Many people lost so much due to basement flooding, freeways were flooded and closed, it was a mess.  But the worst was, three people lost their lives.

Stay safe where you are.  If the road is flooded, don't go in the water.
