Something from the woods...

I love sticks and rocks and anything from the woods.  My son, Ray is out there a lot hunting and cutting wood, looking for mushrooms.  He is lucky to have his very own woods.  He surprised me with this piece of bark saying I thought you could make a craft.

This week I filled it with some yarrow that I had dried and some solidago fireworks that I have tried to preserve with glycerin.  I like it and even more I like it that he thought I would!!  And today is his birthday, so Happy Birthday Ray.

What a thoughtful son. The bark made for an excellent arrangement. I love the look of the whole thing.

Lovely flower arrangement. The wood and the yarrow compliment each other very well.

I think it is so sweet that your son was out doing something he loves and thought of you and what you enjoy Peggy! Love your arrangement, thanks for reminding me about drying yarrow, I hope it's not too late although mine is wild and not as pretty as yours. ~*~Lisa
