Look at this beautiful lady at her birthday party on Sunday. See the twinkle in her eyes!
Aiden, on the left, is her great grandson and John on the right is my great grandson. They served the cake.
She has cute grandsons too. Jackie made a nice party, it was fun.

You might like...a Thai Cucumber Salad (and some books).
No picture to go with the salad but I just got back from the library so that's the picture of the day. Kathleen recommended The Widow's War. I just finished The Graveyard Apartment, one of those you just can't put down until the end and you want to throw the book across the room when it is 1 am.
So the salad: for Lisa, who likes it.
One large English cucumber (that's the long one that is wrapped in plastic. I had to ask.)
1/4 cup chopped cilantro
2 or three scallions thinly sliced (I used green onions)
Dressing is 1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
heaping tablespoon of Swerve
l T. water
1 T. toasted sesame oil
1/2 t. of salt
l oz. crushed peanuts (didn't have so I used 1 T. sesame seeds)
some crushed red pepper
I didn't peel the cucumber, just cut it into rounds, add all the ingredients and stir to dissolve the sweetener. I should be sweet, sour, and salty. I combined the two right away and refrigerated .
If you want to, check out the original recipe on www.lowcarbmaven.com/low-carb-thai-cucumber-salad-paleo as I sometimes don't follow directions, example, leaving out the fish sauce etc.
Hope today has been good to you!

Keto With Kynda
Last year, when Kynda, my daughter, visited us in June, the strawberries were ripe . At that time she had already been on the keto diet and was losing weight nicely. Besides eating some strawberries, we ate delicious food while she was here and she did not gain any weight from our visit, and even I didn't as well.
After she left I decided to give it a try and many deviled eggs later along with lots of bacon, I also lost weight. I found that I wasn't as hungry eating no carbs and no sugar and the best of all, my knees didn't hurt constantly. (They are still stiff, due to old age but so much better).
Add to this, her husband Mark, who took lots of diabetes medicine, improved so much he no longer has to take these and is feeling good also.
Other family members have joined in and all are losing the extra weight. Kynda has lost 70 pounds and is so happy she has decided to help others. She has worked really hard getting her website up and running and I hope all my friends will take a look.
And if you know anyone who might benefit please pass it on. She also has a facebook page and a blog, so check it out. Her website is www.ketowithkynda.com and her blog is www.canadagarden.blogspot.com. If you try it, please let us know!!!!

Walker, Texas Ranger
I absolute LOVE Marg's Animals blog, she is just excellent at photographing cats. This is NOT one of hers.
Sadly I will need to explain my picture since it is not very good quality. The blurry part is a little stuffed black cat that I hung above my computer desk. Walker said no way, I'm not gonna look at that thing every day. It is now behind the desk unreachable. I have never had him to take anything down before. He is bored and mad because it is so cold and he can't go out.
Things are good, some new good things are I have a good book going, we went to see LaLa Land yesterday, my snowman on ebay has a couple of bids, and Kynda has a NEW WEBSITE! Not so good the Lions lost big and this morning I have to start my car in freezing cold.
Please come back to read about Kynda's website, which should have a post of its own soon! Happy Sunday!
