I just finished her up. She is "based" on a pattern by Soft In The Head, Thelma Kay. I gave her flowers instead of a goose to hold. The flowers are from The Farm.
Kynda has a post on her flower class here. Mr. Lutcke has a beautiful place to live and teach about using natural materials. I think it is super that a Michigan artist was chosen to make something for the White House Christmas tree. I hope she will be able to go again.
I hope to be able to do a short time in the yard today but it is very cold and dreary and they are talking snow again. I was hoping they had forgotten that word for this year anyway. Oh well, the library is open, so.....
Hey everyone, have a good Wednesday.
...pictures of children and things I make for those of us who never grow up, and plants I grow in my little garden......

XOXO Girls
These girls were made from a Sweet Meadows pattern, and I used some fabric from Heart of Dixie.
We had a mother-daughters weekend at Grand Haven, Michigan. We didn't find a craft mall or resale shop that was open but there were lots of antique malls doing a brisk business and we saw the lake and the lighthouse and lots of sand. It was great just being together.
Kynda's flower class is today so we are looking forward to hearing all about it. We checked out the location, a beautiful place in a wooded area of the country, near Fruitport.
I hope your week is off to a good start, I always miss reading everyone's posts. The sun is shining in Michigan, my peas are not up (darn) and of yes, like the good blogger that I am I forgot to pack my camera for the weekend. Cheers!

Barb's Sausage Strudel
1 lb Bob Evans Zesty Sausage
1 8 oz. pkg cream cheese
2 pkgs. Pillsbury Crescent Rolls
1 egg white
poppy seeds
Cook the sausage over medium heat in a large skillet until all traces of pink disappear, crumbling finely as you go. Drain, and in the same pan with the sausage, cube up the cream cheese and continue to stir until it is melted and well blended. This is the filling.
Open the crescent roll dough and smooth the seams to make a rectangle. Place half the mixture down the middle and fold the sides over. You can leave the ends open, the filling does not leak.
Brush the tops of the rolls with egg white and sprinkle with poppy seeds. Bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees. Cut in slices to serve.
Happy Friday to all. Enjoy.

Dolls today...
Two girls from the Olde Toys pattern from Sweet Meadows Farm. I used the fat quarters to make the skirt panels and some new yarn for me from Hobby Lobby...bamboo, who knew....
Geneen Roth was on the Today show briefly, talking about her new book Lost and Found, Unexpected Revelations about Food and Money. She said they lost their life savings of 30 years in the Madoff scheme. She says she had to focus on what wasn't wrong in her life. Of course.
I'm also reading Union Quilters and it has now been one week since I planted super sugar snap peas. Happy Thursday everyone. The sun is shining in Michigan.

Bloom and Grow
I'm sharing this again, as it is my very favorite ever from The Farm. I was selfish and kept it for myself but I do wish I had one for everyone.
Another favorite from a homemade pattern, sitting at the Town Peddler for only two days. Be happy honey in your new home.
I know each one of us is concerned about all the devastating things that are happening. Sometimes I don't want to post because everything at the plot seems totally insignificant. I just want to keep in touch, so have a blessed day everyone.

A family bear and Jacob
This little bear survived a tussle with a family dog. His feet were ripped off and some seams were torn open. I like repairing bears and making little pillows so I made him one to sleep with.
I've been visiting with family lately but now Jake has gone back to make guitars in Maryland. We'll miss this teddy bear...
And I missed all my friends here for the past few days. Happy Wednesday everyone.

Tuesday Favorites
These are 18 x 18 fat quarters that I ordered from Heart of Dixie Quilt Shop in Alabama.
I liked the letters and numbers and the colors. I have to see what I can do with the combination.
Some more that I liked, my biggest problem is picking colors that "go together". That's the hardest part, well...'.cept for the faces.
This one is my favorite cat to make. The pattern is by Pat, Off The Beam designs.
Is it called Fat Tuesday where you live? And does your pastry today have a fancy name or is it just a jelly donut day? It is really Shrove Tuesday.

Lutheran High West Craft Show...
Your small, medium or large dog can now have a bib to match its collar.
It was a rainy day but the crowd was there in spite of. Everyone looks forward to the first one after a long winter.
Guess what...lots of very nice things but no primitives and no dolls. But....
Barb was there with her iris folding art. I am proud of her, she had a lot of stock and a neat display!
I hope everyone sold a lot and had a good day. It is a nice event to make some money for the school. And hopefully everyone is home before the rain has turned to snow.
