Now don't go thinkin' I knew this lady the year it was made. I did know of her when I was in high school 1953. She was a teacher but I don't think I was ever in her class; but I certainly remember her. One of my classmates posted the article a little while back and right away I knew I wanted to make something with Miss Mabel.
I love frames with a vintage look, old photos, old buttons, old lace so this is what I came up with. The ribbon looks a little big in the picture but it really isn't and I had to choose to crop off her shoes or the headline, I couldn't see not showing those shoes.
It's been a rainy day in Michigan. I went to the library after they were closed for four days. I was overdue for my book fix. Happy day everyone.

Oh, I love old photos. My daughter recently took my box of inherited vintage photos and scanned and printed a bunch and has them displayed on a gallery wall in her living room. It looks so nice, and my mother would be so happy people were seeing them daily.
Miss Mabel must have been something! :)
Our library recently instituted Sunday hours (1pm to 5pm). So they are only closed on holidays now. It has come in handy already to have access on Sunday, though it is kind of sad to see one more institution move away from Sunday being a day of rest.
Nice vintage photo. Raining here too! Janice
I have a trunk of vintage photos from Louis Dean's first wife's family.....I love to 'read' the stories in the photos!
What a great job you did adding the perfect touch to frame the photo. It rained here yesterday too but today hopefully will be clear. Out for some Christmas shopping here.
Love the vintage picture and what you did with it. Glad you got out to get your book fix :)
Hi Peggy, I like the picture. I remember lots of the older teachers from when I was a kid. We were always taught to treat our teachers with respect...if we liked them or not. Blessings, stay warm there...it's cold here today. xoxo, Susie
