Christmas Cards 2020

 I have had some unexpected surprises in my mailbox lately.  Beautiful art by Linda, so much appreciated !

And a packet of handmade Christmas cards by my friend Kathy, who moved away years ago but has kept in touch faithfully ever since.

I should get busy I believe!  

Nine Reindeer in a Hat

 It's a long way to North Dakota, where these guys are going.  I probably will never make another one so I thought I would show it off.  It was really big. Happy Sunday everyone.

Not just for Christmas...

 I didn't know this but you might already.  Anyway I am sending it just in case.  As soon as I feel comfortable I am heading to English Gardens for one of these this year.  Kynda says she just put hers out in the yard in summer and it is looking good.

 I made this turkey from a pattern by The Goode Wife.  My daughter, Kynda, gave him a nice place to stand. She makes beautiful wreaths.   I really like the black and white, those colors have   been really popular this year at the Town Peddler Craft mall. We did good I think!!  Do you like black and white for Christmas?

 I may have forgotten how to post, but I still keep up with all of you.  I saw this a bit ago and thought how well it describes me these days.

Flowers on Fleming St.

 Best short zinnia is this red one, I have not picked even one and the blooms are still fresh.

Best tall zinnias, I save the seeds from one year to the next and just scatter them.  They never fail.
Best spreading petunia, they are hard to find.  Tidal Wave.

 The hostas have the tallest blooms ever.

 new to me, Mexican petunia.  Only blooms early in the morning.

 My yarrow, I sell this dried at my craft mall.

and if you were here, we would sit under this tree and drink coffee.  It's a beautiful day in Michigan.

Pot-Speak

The Pot on the left says "I've cooked the biggest turkeys".  The pot on the right says "But I've cooked twice as many as you".  The little one on the floor says "I've cooked cabbage rolls for twenty."

We all know sometimes objects "speak" to us.  This was a moment yesterday when my friend Jackie put these lovely roaster pans in her booth at Town Peddler.  It is sad to let things like this go but we all know we can't keep everything.

We hope that Stella and Jo's roasters go to someone who has a big old farmhouse where they can be admired, or even used.

Growing tomatoes...

I never have a ripe tomato by fourth of July, I know that is a competition among some gardeners.
Instead I am playing with mine, diligently hunting out suckers so I can train my tomatoes up a string, a method recommended by Karen, The Art of Doing Stuff. 

If you have read her posts you will know she is a hoot, so even if you can't do stuff that she writes about, (or have no desire to) you will enjoy  her posts.

Another gardener I miss so much is Dad's Tomato Garden.  Some of you will remember him,  I know Ma will.  I always think of him when I look at my tomatoes.  Happy Sunday and let me know if you have a ripe tomato.

PJ's new sewing space...

Rarely this couple eat together, they always take turns at the table.

But Dennis, lots of people are working very hard to keep food on our table.  We love them for what they are doing.  Hope you have plenty of "groceries".

Yesterday

I found this message all printed out which was what I was gonna say anyway about my day yesterday.  I hope you can go out to the garden today, it is a little rainy here.  Can't go wrong to place your faith in what God sends us although sometimes it is hard to understand.  I hope you are well, enjoy my daffodils.

Traded masks for soup

This is PJ in her "piggy" face mask, made through my window.  She and Jeff were dropping off tomato basil soup  and more supplies for making face masks.   I have had some more requests
(for masks not soup, I ain't sharing my soup).  Love you all!

Better than Nuttin'

 Yesterday I made these for some mask-less friends.  After I got the bugs worked out, they were pretty easy and at least they would remind you not to touch your face.  You can get lots of patterns on pinterest and after all, it was something to do besides TV.

Twas 60 degrees this morn and steadily dropping all day so I did some gardening early on. The hellebores were all I could find for a picture. Happy March 20.

Just yesterday I bought a pattern from Chestnut Junction.  I am watching Silent Witness on Amazon, there are about 18 seasons and feeding the neighborhood sparrows, hungry little buggers. What's up with you friends?
