Pretense...

I've been pretending I know all about scrapbooking. I'm the one who lurks in the scrapbooking aisle at Joann's trying to find someone who actually knows what they are doing.

There are all these cutting machines, tags, labels, embellishments (what is that?), rubber stamps, special inks, all costing an arm and a leg. If you are into this venture, I give you credit. If you are doing it for craft shows, you get even more credit.

Mine is just scraps and some paper. Kynda found this old picture I liked and I wanted to use it in some way. A friend said my pillows look like little post-its, so that's what I'm calling them now.

I've been busy cleaning up the raspberry patch. They are a lot of work but it has cooled off and if not for the big mosquitoes, I would be out there all day.

The Free Press had a short interview with gospel artist Marvin Sapp in yesterdays edition about his music and ministry. He said about his wife MaLinda who died last year of cancer "My wife, she had this statement: "Keep it moving, people." She would say it to my kids, to my church, everyone she came in contact with."

Just a thought, because this is one of those days I don't want to move. I hope you are moving along well. It's nice to visit today. Take care of all.

Havagoda..

Graduation was yesterday. This is Rebecca making her speech and she did super. It was such a sweet and happy day.

A reminder to you all that I am still working along with the gardening. PJ found an old tattered hymn book at a sale....

And this is my therapy frog that I have coffee with every morning. He said, when do I get to be on the blog? So here is he, his expression will match any feeling that you have... His eyes are amazing. Don't ever tell him he is just a plastic frog.

The Havagoda is a word from the graduation speaker. You can figure it out, she said that she said it to her students every morning.

Another sentence I wanted to remember from another speaker also. A Don Swartz quote (thank you PJ for looking it up)...

"No one cares how much you know, until they know how much you care."

Excuses I think up

Reading a good book instead of watching the news helps you sleep better. If you like Civil War stories like Cold Mountain or Widow of the South, you will like this one. Her first novel. (not a romance).
I need to weed between the garage and the fence, but I have been watching Ms. Spider get bigger and bigger for a month and I would have to tear up her web that goes all the way to the ground. Look closely, she has a patchwork quilt design on her back, or maybe it's rabbits or stars. The weeds have to wait.
The garage needs painting and the garden tools need to be stored away. However, a squirrel has stashed his walnut on top of my hoe that hangs on the garage. The sign says "this is where I belong". Guess so.

I just wanted to post something today, however trivial. I am working really hard.
Best wishes to y'all. Hope you have accomplished much today.

Mammy's Slip

This is Mammy's slip that hangs in Kynda's bathroom, she made a corsage for it when her bathroom got all gussied up. She is thinking of changing the flowers but I like it like this. Does anyone care to give their opinion?

I Have People

My friend Barb is very good at finding resale treasures. And she always remembers her friends when she sees things she knows they would like. These little frames fit right in at my house. (the 60's pictures are my kids).

How Neat Is This?

What do you call it? A Counter-Cabinet? At any rate, do you suppose I could get it out to the car and she wouldn't miss it?
